The $41 million, four-story, 122,000-square-foot building includes investigators from across the campus that are utilizing model organisms to explore and inform biology and health. Genome Science Research Building II is home to the Center for Population Genomics & Pharmacogenetics and the Center for Models of Human Disease, both of which are part of the Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy. It also houses offices and labs in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. The building includes a mouse facility that incorporates research labs right into the mouse holding rooms, so that scientists can easily test the enormous numbers of mice needed for genetic screening.
